Michelle Ruschman has lived in Niceville since 1995. In 2008, in an effort to teach her daughter a part of her Filipino heritage, she started a business called Philippine Script Designs, featuring the original script of the Philippines called baybayin. This script was burned into wood, stamped into metal and etched into glass. In 2011 she introduced her most popular line, Beautifully Broken, cross pendants made of dichroic glass and they continue to be her best sellers. In November of 2017, Michelle also added larger pieces of art work made from alcohol ink on yupo paper and tile. In April 2018 one of her first pieces, "3:33" was displayed at the Pensacola Museum of Art.
